MEGAN is Welch for Margaret which means "pearl". In Quenya "pearl" is "marilla", but we get feminin ending -e instead of -a.
Thus Marillë. There is no such word in Sindarin so instead we can use the word for "jewel" - "mîr" and get Míriel. That is such
a lovely name! In the writings of Tolkien, there are to women with that name; Míriel, mother of Fëanor and the first wife and
queen of Finwë, High King of the Noldor. And Míriel, the last queen of Númenor, she who was fairer then silver and pearls...

Tolkien's elvish languages are so pretty...I want to learn one. Laura's is...

LAURA 'laurel' a tree.
Quenya: Aldariel 'of trees / daughter of trees' from 'aldar' 'trees' plural of 'alda' 'tree' and ending
'-iel' 'of/daughter of'.
Sindarin: Galadhwen 'tree maiden' from 'galadh' and 'wen'.
